Move the fields FORWARD.
Organizing to move the West Sylvan turf field project
forward for youth athletics in the Lincoln boundary.
Support the students. Finish the fields.
The plan is approved. The project is funded. But the turf fields remain unbuilt. We’re asking PPS to put the plan into action and deliver turf fields at West Sylvan for youth, middle school, and Lincoln High School teams.
The Cardinal Nest Project brings parents and the community together to move this project forward.
Help move the
fields forward.

Improving West Sylvan athletic fields for all students.
Lincoln baseball and softball teams travel to off-campus “home” fields, adding costs and taking students away from the classroom.
Turf fields will provide youth, West Sylvan, and Lincoln high school baseball and softball teams across the Lincoln boundary a safer, more reliable place to play — with better drainage, fewer rain-related cancellations, consistent playing surfaces, and more opportunities for PE, practices, and games.
What we’re asking for: A clear update from PPS and its Bond project team on work completed, remaining steps, and the construction schedule.
Problem
Approved and funded. Still waiting.
Original plans approved. West Sylvan’s field project was designed and received land-use approval, but was never built.
Funding renewed. The project received funding through the 2025 PPS Bond.
September 2025: Restart required. PPS documented that previous permits had expired and the approval process needed to begin again.
Community advocacy continued. Lincoln coaches, parents, students, and community members kept calling for progress through public comment.
May 2026: Application underway. PPS reported that a land-use application was in progress.
Current status: Pre-planning. The PPS Bond website continues to list the project in this phase.
Progress
We need more voices.
Parents, coaches, students, and community members have urged the PPS Board to move West Sylvan’s fields forward.
We need more voices to keep the project a priority. Join the effort, attend public meetings, and help ask PPS for a clear construction timeline.
